Financial assistance for education and housing assistance


Education Assistance - The federal government offers financial help for single mothers but the eligibility depends upon if the mother is below a certain financial bracket. For those single mothers who wish to continue with their higher education can avail the facility of the Federal Pell Grant Program. Those single mothers either undergraduates or postgraduates who come from low-income families can apply for these. However, the government may also financial assistance or grant this on the basis of the total family income and the size of the family. The cost of the tuition fees and the enrolment status of the candidate would also be considered. The grant is provided to the institution where the single parent wishes to study. This amount is credited into the account of the student or a cheque is issued once every semester.
